Try some of these ways to de-stress:

Exercise
Yoga is a good activity that can quiet your mind. Yoga uses progressive muscle relaxation as a relaxation method.

Eating comfort foods
Chocolate contains flavanols which may increase blood flow to the brain but choose dark chocolate for its extra antioxidant properties.

Creative activity
If you draw, paint, cook, knit, weave, sculpt, potter, or some other activity then go and do it.
Play

Reading as a diversion
Books can take you to another place, a place where you can forget your worries for awhile. Don’t have the time for books then pick up an interesting magazine and read a few articles.

Writing
Get out a pen and paper and start writing out your thoughts. Don’t try and dwell too much on what you are writing and think about solutions.

Laughing
Laughing can reduce stress instantly.  Watch a comedy on TV or video, watch a funny video clip on YouTube or think of the funniest thing that has happened to you in the past and relive it.
